|Machogu Sends Message to Schools Ahead of School Opening. The Ministry of Education, under Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, has issued a memo directing regional education heads to assess the impact of the current floods. This evaluation will inform the Ministry’s decision on whether to proceed with the scheduled reopening of schools next week.
The memo highlights the importance of examining the damage caused by heavy rains to schools nationwide. Data collected will be crucial for planning purposes and will be shared with the Education in Emergencies cluster working group.
Depending on the assessment results, the Ministry may consider postponing the school reopening to allow for necessary repairs. Regional directors are tasked with overseeing the data collection process and must submit their findings before April 26.
