Green Card Application Results to be Released today

The US State Department has confirmed that the DV-2025 Diversity Visa Lottery results will be made available starting May 4th, 2024.

This program commenced in October 4, 2023 and was closed in November 7, 2023.

Normally, those who have successfully been selected will be required to attend the Scheduled interviews at the US embassy that will determine who will be issued with the US Visa upon passing the interview.

Those who will be handed the US Visa will definitely become the US permanent residents who will enjoy all the benefits the US citizens enjoy as provided in the US laws.

Those who are more likely to qualify are those with high school education or its equivalent or those with a certain level of work experience.

During the application last year, 18 countries were locked out of the Dv-25 program by the US Department of State. Those countries that were locked out include;

• Bangladesh,
• Brazil, Canada,
• The People’s Republic of China (including mainland and Hong Kong-born),
• Colombia,
• Dominican Republic,
• El Salvador,
• Haiti,
• Honduras,
• India,
• Jamaica,
• Mexico,
• Nigeria,
• Pakistan,
• Philippines,
• Republic of Korea (South Korea), Venezuela, and
• Vietnam.

The above countries were barred from applying on grounds that over 50,000 of their nationals had immigrated to the US in the last five years.

The last program of this lottery, showed about 3,760 Kenyans selected for the US Visa. This is after about 22,185,619 Individuals had applied for this program worldwide.

It was published that out of the total applicants worldwide, only 143,000 who managed to secure slots but after the US embassy interview, it turned out that only 55,000 were successfully issued with the US Visa.

The US State Department has said that winning a lottery to the US is not a guarantee that you will be issued with the US Visa as there is a number they need to issue Visas with and should not exceed 55,000 nationals.

How to Check

For those who submitted the application for this program need to be in possession on the following;

1. Confirmation number
2. Surname/family name
3. Year of Birth

Once you have the above details, you can now click on this link http://dvlottery.state.gov/ then enter your details and the click on submit to check whether you have been selected.

For those who lost their confirmation numbers should not be worried as a tool has been included in the page where you can retrieve your confirmation number using the email you used during application and a few personal details.

Sometimes you may check your results at first and you may have not been selected. But don’t lose hope, continue checking as the US Department keeps updating the system regularly and you may find your name selected later. So keep checking don’t tire.
