The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) closed first revision of courses on April 4, 2024 this month and is set to open the website for second revision.

The placement body always offers a window for candidates to change their institutions and courses after the final revision and after admission Respectively.

This is possible through the inter-institution transfer where candidates are allowed to change the institutions where they have been placed to their preferred institutions. During this period, one can change the University and the course is he/she meets the stipulated requirements.

The placement body has made it clear that not everyone is eligible to apply for course and institution transfer as this needs receiving University approval if the student meets the set cluster points.

Those students who are eligible and sat for 2023 KCSE are asked to log into the student’s portal to kick start the application process once the portal is made active.

Within the portal, a student can now see the institutional transfer upon logging in and proceed with the transfer application.

This process is not free as interested students will be required to pay a certain fee upon choosing the institution of choice and the preferred course.

You should not make payments in advance but this should be done after you have completed all the necessary steps outlined in the application portal. If you make payments in advance, you may lose your money hitherto.

Ensure that you make payments to the provided Paybill number as provided in the KUCCPS Portal. This can be done through the E-citizen Paybill number 222222. You can use the procedure below to check whether the money has reflected in your E-citizen account.

Candidates should be wary of persons posing online as KUCCPS staff to avoid sending money to individual accounts. This will make you lose your money without trace. The placement body does not require applicants to send money to direct mobile phone numbers.

Therefore, interested candidates who wish to start their transfers should wait until the commission announces and opens the inter-institution and course transfers on its portal before starting the application process.

Similarly, the placement body is set to open the students portal for second revision of courses before issuing the final revision after the first revision ended April 4, 2024.
