The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has an online system known as Teacher Management Information System ( TMIS) where newly recruited teachers are supposed to be added into the list of other teachers of the school for easy monitoring of staffing in various schools.
Only Headteachers and principals have the powers to add and edit Teachers’ data on this online platform. These administrators need to be in possession of the Username and password for them to be able to log into the system.
The following data pertaining to the teacher to be added must be in possession the school head. They include;
- Teacher’s details
- Basic school details
- Ordinary enrollment
- Teacher on leave
- Subject enrollment
- Non full teaching load due to illness
- KCPE/KCSE Performance
How to Update Data On TMIS
- Type https://www.teachersonline.go.ke into your browser and click enter. A page like the one below will be displayed.
2. On the Middle left corner indicated official are two fields indicated Username and password, click in those fields and enter the username and password set for the school by the TSC ICT department.
3. Once you are logged in, you will be able to view the teachers’s data under the ‘teachers tab’.
4. To update the Teachers’ data, you can click on edit tab that’s at the rear right side of the window and click on the teacher you wish to update if you are updating information of an existing teacher.
5. If you are adding a new teacher, you can click on the + sign on the page to add him/her.
6. After you are done, you can click on save changes.
How to update Teacher’s Phone Number
- While still logged into the System, click on the TEACHERS tab and the list of the teachers in the institution will be displayed.
- At the right corner of the page, click on edit under the ‘ACTION’ column.
- You will click on the teacher you want to update and the editable details will be displayed.
- Enter the teacher’s verified phone number correctly and click on SAVE icon under the action column.
- Repeat this for all teachers in the institution if you wish to update all of them
You can be able to update a number of parameters for teacher including;
- Date of deployment
- Entry/Exit report for either newly recruited teachers or teachers on transfer or teacher Interdicted and cease to be a teacher of that school.
- Basic School details
- Ordinary enrollment
- Teachers’ details
- Teachers on leave
- Subject enrollment
- Non full teaching load which may be due to illness
- KCPE/KCSE Performance
