KNEC Art and Craft Instructions for 2024 UDPTE and UDECTE

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released comprehensive guidelines for conducting the 2024 Upgrade Programmes for Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood in Teacher Education (UDECTE) Summative Assessment in Art and Craft.

This year’s assessment will comprise two modes: a Theory paper, accounting for 60%, and a Portfolio assessment, making up the remaining 40%.

To access the instructions for the portfolio assessment, individuals can log into the Teacher Education portal at https://cbate@knec.ac.ke and download the guidelines under the 2024 Art and Craft Assessment section.

Teacher trainers have been tasked with guiding teacher trainees on portfolio organization according to the provided scoring guide, emphasizing the importance of maintaining confidentiality regarding assessment-related documents.

It is paramount for all parties involved to strictly adhere to the provided instructions. Teacher trainers are expected to thoroughly interpret the advanced guidelines for portfolio assessment and ensure precise adherence to the outlined procedures.

Each trainee must compile and maintain a portfolio for assessment, and they should be informed of the assessment mode to adequately prepare for evaluation.

The assessment is slated to commence on May 24, 2024, and conclude by July 10, 2024. Following the assessment period, scores must be promptly uploaded online by the respective teacher trainers, with KNEC overseeing the authenticity and progress of all trainee scores.

All stakeholders are urged to facilitate and ensure strict compliance with the provided instructions, ensuring the smooth execution of the assessment process.
