KUCCPS Releases New Payment Codes After Govt Directive on eCitizen.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) announced on Tuesday that it had introduced new payment codes.

In a public notice, KUCCPS revealed that this change follows the government’s directive that all government services should be integrated with the eCitizen platform. “For efficiency, KUCCPS services have been assigned codes for purposes of eCitizen transactions. Henceforth, stakeholders are advised to use the following payment reference codes while paying for the listed services via the platform,” the notice stated.

According to the new changes, local students making payments for the provision of data for research will need to use the code PDRL. Local NGOs and businesses paying for data for research will be required to use the code PNGO.

Bidders purchasing tender documents will use the PTDB code, while those purchasing career books will use PCCB. Universities registering for membership will use the code RGMU, and colleges will use RMCL for the same service.

“For services not listed above, such as applications for replacement or inter-institutional transfers, follow eCitizen payment instructions as provided on the respective KUCCPS portal,” the notice added.

How to Pay Through eCitizen

KUCCPS outlined the following seven steps to make payments through eCitizen:

1. Go to the mobile money menu.

2. Select the pay with mobile money option.

3. Select pay bill.

4. Enter the consolidated paybill number – 222222.

5. For the account number, enter the corresponding payment reference code followed by a hyphen and the client’s name, all in capital letters.

6. Enter the required amount to complete the process.

7. Forward the confirmation message to KUCCPS as proof of payment for the service.
