KUCCPS Rules July 4th As Deadline For First Years Inter-institutional Transfers. The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has declared that the inter-institution transfer portal will close at midnight on Thursday, July 4. In their announcement, KUCCPS encouraged first-year students who are under government sponsorship to seize this chance to transfer to the university of their preference.

This opportunity is available to students enrolled in public universities, colleges, polytechnics, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. First-year students were advised, “If you were recently placed in a university or TVET institution and wish to transfer, apply via students.kuccps.net.”

KUCCPS elaborated that this window was opened to ensure all students have the chance to pursue their desired courses at institutions they prefer. It is important to note that a transfer request must receive approval from both the releasing and receiving institutions to be processed.

For instance, a transfer from Kenyatta University to the University of Nairobi cannot proceed unless both universities approve the request. Additionally, KUCCPS will reject the transfer request if the student does not meet the required cluster points for the intended course.

The KUCCPS portal provides information on each student’s cluster points and the necessary points for specific courses, along with the subject requirements.

Moreover, KUCCPS announced that students who applied for courses at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) could check their application status on the portal. For those who applied but did not secure a course, KUCCPS invited them to choose other KMTC courses via the portal.

The deadline for KMTC’s second revision of applications is set for July 12, specifically for students who were not placed during the first phase.
