The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has implemented transfers for secondary school principals in Murang’a, ahead of the commencement of the second term next week. Alongside these transfers, the TSC has also announced promotions for some deputy principals within the education system.
Among the notable changes, Andrew Maina, the long-serving principal of Ichagaki Mixed Secondary School, has been transferred to PK Secondary School, taking over from John Mwangi. Maina expressed gratitude for his tenure at Ichagaki, noting the significant transformation the school underwent during his 15-year leadership. He highlighted the remarkable increase in student population from 66 to 660 during his tenure.
Additionally, Julia Muturi, principal of Kamahuha Girls, has been relocated to Musa Gitau in Kiambu county, assuming the position previously held by Rhoda Wamaitha. Wamaitha, in turn, has been reassigned to Nginda Girls in Maragua, replacing Veronica Mwai, who has been transferred to Kamahuha Girls.
Francis Ng’ang’a, the Murang’a TSC Director, reassured that the transfers are a routine exercise by the employer, emphasizing that there is no cause for alarm. The transition process in the affected schools has been ongoing and coordinated by the sub-county directors of education, according to reports from The Standard.
In addition to principal transfers, deputy principals have also been affected by the changes. For instance, Hannah Wangari, deputy principal of Kamahuha Girls, has been reassigned to Koimbi Mixed Secondary School in Kahuro sub-county.
Furthermore, Danstan Ngare of Mweru Secondary School in Kiharu has been moved to Gaitheri Secondary School, replacing Ngaruiya, who is heading to Vidhu Ramji Secondary School in Murang’a town. Moreover, a senior deputy principal from Senior Chief Girls in Kiambu has been relocated to Karuri Gakure Secondary School in Kangema, taking over from Rose Kihara.
