|TSC Launches Nationwide Workload Analysis and Skills Audit
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has begun a comprehensive workload analysis and skills audit for all Secretariat employees across the country. This initiative aligns with the Commission’s Strategic Plan 2023-2027, particularly focusing on Institutional Capacity and Corporate Governance, to enhance employee motivation, welfare, and wellness.
A major objective of this initiative is to promote and implement employee productivity by analyzing workloads and conducting skills audits. This process aims to determine the optimal workforce size and improve job satisfaction.
In a memo dated June 19, 2024, TSC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nancy Macharia outlined the details of this process to all secretariat staff. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) officers at both the headquarters and county levels will assist employees with the digital divide in completing the survey.

The survey system, accessible at https://erp.tsc.go.ke:9595, opened on June 21 and will remain available until June 30, 2024. The commission has requested that secretariat staff respond to the questionnaire diligently and objectively.
Dr. Macharia stated that the exercise aims to collect data on the skills inventory and calculate the number of hours employees spend on various tasks daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. This assessment seeks to identify the gap between employees’ skills and the requirements specified in the career progression guidelines.
The survey’s goals include:
– Collecting a skills inventory
– Computing workload hours per employee
– Identifying variances between current skills and career progression requirements
This initiative underscores TSC’s dedication to fostering an efficient and satisfied workforce by aligning employee skills with organizational needs.
