|TSC List of Allowances For Teachers. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) provides allowances for teachers categorized as either remunerative or reimbursable.
Remunerative allowances are paid alongside the salary, while reimbursable allowances are recovered upon application.
Remunerative allowances include two types:
1. Automatic:
– House Allowance
– Medical Allowance
– Hardship Allowance
– Commuter Allowance
2. Paid upon application:
– Responsibility Allowance: Granted to Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, and Senior Teachers in Job Group K and below.
– Special Duty Allowance: Paid to teachers appointed to administrative positions and deployed in arid and semi-arid regions.
– Reader’s Allowance: Provided to visually impaired teachers who hire readers meeting specific certification criteria.
– Interpreters’ Allowance: Given to deaf teachers using interpreters during study leave.
– Special School Allowance: Paid to teachers with special education backgrounds teaching in special schools or units.
– Transfer Allowance: Granted to teachers transferred from one district to another, initiated by the Commission.

Expenses reimbursable by the commission for teachers include:
– Travel Expenses: Eligible under specific circumstances such as interdiction lift, interview attendance, first posting outside the home district, or post-retirement travel.
– Quota per Day: Daily sustenance allowance for teachers on official assignments, requiring application at least 14 days before travel.
