Primary teacher II is the entry grade for trained primary school teachers in Kenya. This grade was formerly known as job group G but it was renamed to grade B5, T-Scale 5.

Allowances For Primary Teacher II
Hardship Allowance
This Allowance is paid to teachers working in areas with extreme conditions which may include insecurity, extreme sun/coldness and etc.
This amount is paid as compensation for the extreme conditions witnessed in these regions and motivate the teachers to continue working.
Teachers offering services in this grade are entitled to a hardship allowance of Ksh 6,600. This amount is paid together with the salary at the end of the month.
Commuter Allowance
The Teachers Service Commission offers teachers commuter Allowance to facilitate them move from their places of residence to their respective schools.
This is meant to appreciate and motivate them so that they avail themselves in school in good time in order to help learners.
Teachers working under the teachers service commission are entitled to a commuter Allowance of Ksh 4,000.
Leave Allowance
TSC issues teachers with annual leave allowance at the start of every year. This is to appreciate their tireless efforts to ensure they are on duty daily the whole year even during holidays and weekends.
This leave allowance is always paid at the start of the year in January together with the basic Salary.
Teachers in this grade are awarded a leave allowance of Ksh 4,000.
