Explanation of the New University Funding Model Bands

 

Band 1: This band applies to families with a monthly income up to Sh5,995.

 

Band 2: This band applies to families with a monthly income up to Sh23,670.

 

Band 3: This band applies to families with a monthly income up to Sh70,000.

 

Band 4: This band applies to families with a monthly income up to Sh120,000.

 

Band 5: This band applies to families with a monthly income above Sh120,000.

 

Funding Details

 

Band 1

 

– Government Scholarship: 70%

 

– Loan: 25%

 

– Total Support: 95%

 

– Family Contribution: 5%

 

– Upkeep Loan: Sh60,000

 

Band 2

 

– Government Scholarship: 60%

 

– Loan: 30%

 

– Total Support: 90%

 

– Family Contribution: 10%

 

– Upkeep Loan: Sh55,000

 

Band 3

 

– Government Scholarship: 50%

 

– Loan: 30%

 

– Total Support: 80%

 

– Family Contribution: 20%

 

– Upkeep Loan: Sh50,000

 

Band 4:

 

– Government Scholarship: 40%
